Nunn Desperately Tries to Hide His Abortion Record in New TV Ad

September 26, 2024

Nunn paved the way for Iowa’s abortion ban and has threatened access to contraception and IVF

DES MOINES – Zach Nunn can’t hide from his record on abortion, no matter how many television ads he cuts.

Let’s take a look at his record. Zach Nunn:

  • voted for the same extreme legislation that Iowa later used to implement a near-total abortion ban
  • voted to threaten Iowans’ access to abortion, contraception, and IVF and supported a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa.
  • voted to block consideration of a bill that would codify the protections guaranteed by Roe v. Wade, which would have prevented Iowa’s abortion ban from going into effect.
  • voted to punish doctors who perform abortions and block reproductive health care access for members of the armed services.

“Zach Nunn is trying to hide his record of voting to ban abortions and to block federal abortion protections because he knows how unpopular his anti-abortion agenda is among Iowans. When it comes down to it, Nunn has voted to invite the government into women’s doctor’s offices multiple times and he supports banning abortions with zero exceptions,” said IDP Spokesperson Paige Godden. “Lanon Baccam is the only candidate in this race who trusts women to make their own medical decisions.”
