DES MOINES – House Speaker Mike Johnson gave away Republican’s plans to reform the Affordable Care Act on Tuesday.
“Health care reform’s going to be a big part of the agenda… No Obamacare. The ACA is so deeply ingrained, we need massive reform to make this work and we got a lot of ideas on how to do that,” Johnson said.
Even though 111,423 individual Iowans are now enrolled in Affordable Care Act coverage in Iowa, Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks are ready to go along with Johnson’s plan to dismantle the ACA.
“Iowans need to know what’s coming if Republicans keep the majority in the House. Dismantling the ACA and taking away health protections for millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions is evidently the Republican plan for 2025 if they are in control” said IDP Chair Rita Hart. “Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks are ready to rubber stamp a bill to kill the ACA, which will cost Iowans their health, wealth and perhaps their lives. It’s time to elect new, independent voices to Congress.”
