Lack of Funding Bill, Farm Bill Show Miller-Meeks and Nunn Aren’t Doing Their Jobs

September 12, 2024

Iowa’s Farmers, Veterans, Seniors and Small Business Owners Rely on Federal Funding

DES MOINES – On Sep 11th, Republicans in Congress announced they can’t reach a deal on a continued resolution to keep the government open after current funding expires at the end of the month.

Iowa farmers have also been waiting for more than a year to see what’s going to be in a new Farm Bill.

Zach Nunn, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Republicans in Congress have failed to do their job, even after taking a month-long break.

“Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks are failing Iowans and our farmers. The lack of certainty on what’s going to happen next leaves Iowa’s farmers, veterans, seniors and our small business owners in a tough spot,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “It’s time for new leadership in Washington D.C. and Christina Bohannan and Lanon Baccam are ready to put people over politics and serve the people of Iowa.”
