Iowa Democratic Party Launches 2024 “Plan Your Vote” GOTV Effort

August 13, 2024

The effort will focus on inactive Democrats, those that voted in 2020, but not 2016, and new registrants

The Iowa Democratic Party formally launched iowademocrats.org/PlanYourVote to begin the 2024 General Election.

“Government that works for people, not special interests, reproductive freedom, public schools, even democracy itself is on the ballot this year,” said IDP Chair Rita Hart. “We need Iowa Democrats to be reliable voters and make a plan so they have a hassle-free voting experience this fall.”

The website launch is just the beginning of an expected seven-figure investment from IDP in turning out voters that will include paid staff and paid media.

Past turnout shows that the number of “drop off Democrats,” or Democrats who voted in 2018, but not 2022, was higher than the GOP’s margin of victory in multiple congressional and state legislative races, as well as the elections for Attorney General and Treasurer.

Iowa Democrats can plan their vote at iowademocrats.org/PlanYourVote.
