ICYMI: Iowa Democratic Party Announces Governor Andy Beshear as Special Guest for Liberty and Justice Celebration

August 13, 2024

Des Moines, IA — The Iowa Democratic Party announced Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will be a special guest and the headline speaker at the annual Liberty & Justice Celebration on July 27, 2024. The event will take place in Des Moines.

“I am immensely grateful that Governor Beshear has agreed to join us,” said Rita Hart, Iowa Democratic Party Chair. “Beshear’s campaign shows that Democrats can run and win in a rural state. Iowa Democrats have a lot to learn from the Governor and I know his enthusiasm and passion will be infectious in Iowa.”

“I’m excited to talk with Iowa Democrats about how we defeated Donald Trump’s and Mitch McConnell’s candidate in a deep red state by doubling down on compassion, decency and empathy,” said Governor Beshear. “I know Democrats can win hard races around the country when we stay laser-focused on the most important challenges facing our people and do everything we can to make their lives better. Kentuckians showed the blueprint for success last year and I’m looking forward to sharing this with Iowa Democrats at the Liberty and Justice Dinner.”

Iowa Democrats made the announcement during the Party’s state convention on Saturday, June 15.
