Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces $312,000 Awarded to the Mississippi Department of Transportation

(BOLTON, MS) Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has awarded $312,000 in FHWA Climate Challenge Project Funds to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Climate Challenge provides financial and technical assistance resources to help state departments of transportation (DOTs) or other public sector stakeholders explore the use of Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) as a standard practice to inform pavement material and design selection for enhancing sustainable pavement practices and quantify the emissions and impacts of those practices.
