SDDP Honors President Biden for His Dedication and Service

July 22, 2024

The South Dakota Democratic Party would like to thank President Joe Biden for his service to our country following his announcement that he is no longer running for reelection.

President Biden has done more for this country and South Dakota in just four years then many presidents are able to do in eight. He helped us recover from a devastating pandemic, made historic investments into our infrastructure, strengthened relations with Tribal Nations, protected our farmers and ranchers, made healthcare more affordable and defended people’s individual freedoms.

Biden’s decision to not seek reelection is an extraordinary act of selflessness. Democrats understand that you put your country’s needs first. That is what the President has demonstrated and what Democrats across the nation stand for. We thank President Biden for the hard work he has done for four years to make our country stronger and look forward to the good he will continue to do during the remainder of his term.

Now it’s time for Democrats to unite and select a Presidential nominee who will defeat Donald Trump, protect our Democracy and defend the freedoms of all Americans. Per DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, there will be a “transparent and orderly process” in the coming days to move forward with a Presidential candidate.
