New Report Shows Trump's Tax Bill Will Drive Up Costs in Virginia

Winsome Earle-Sears on the law: “The bill as you know now does so many great things”

VIRGINIA - A new report from the Center for American Progress found that the Trump tax bill will drive up costs in Virginia including the cost of healthcare, food, and energy. Winsome Earle-Sears has praised the law saying it “does so many great things.” The law will also take healthcare away from 322,000 Virginians and force at least 6 rural hospitals to close.  
 
“As Winsome Earle-Sears cheers on Trump’s tax bill that will raise costs for Virginians and take away healthcare, Sears is showing Virginia she’ll always put Trump first – no matter how devastating it is for the Commonwealth. Sears owes Virginians answers about why she’s only focused on appeasing Trump and pushing his agenda” said DPVA Spokesperson Maggie Amjad.

Winsome Earle-Sears cheered on Trump’s tax bill and dismissed the concerns of Virginians being stripped of their health insurance.

• Sears praised Trump’s tax bill saying it “does so many great things” as it stripped 322,000 Virginians of healthcare and put six rural hospitals at risk of closing. 

• Sears told the 322,000 Virginians being stripped of their health insurance and six rural hospitals facing closure as a result of the bill, “don’t panic.” 
   
• Following Virginia Democrats launching a new billboard campaign calling out Winsome-Earle Sears for backing Trump’s healthcare cuts, Sears again refused to explain why she’s backing the law, and dismissed the devastating impact on Virginians. 
• New polling found that the majority of Virginia voters have serious concerns about Winsome Earle-Sears’ support of Donald Trump’s tax bill. The polling also finds Sears’ support for the bill’s health care cuts is deeply unpopular with voters.
