LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues the following statement regarding Victor Rountree being elected to the state legislature to represent the voters of Legislature District 3 after the Sarpy County Election Commission’s final ballot count today:
“Victor Rountree brings an incredible background of experience to the legislature, including his military service. This was a hard-fought victory that is possible because Victor knocked doors and stayed focused on issues like lowering costs for working families and supporting veterans. The state and county party infrastructure from volunteers to voter guides and vote-by-mail applications, were critical resources that provide lessons for us as we begin to plan for the 2026 election cycle.”
State Senator-elect Victor Rountree provided the following statement:
“I’m incredibly grateful and humbled to have earned the support of the voters in District 3. Thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and my family who have been so supportive throughout this journey. I look forward to serving my community, the greater state of Nebraska, and working hard for our hard-working people in the State Legislature.”
