LANSING — On Sep 13th, Mike Rogers is campaigning with anti-abortion extremist Tom Cotton. Rogers and Cotton have extensive anti-abortion records, and they both co-sponsored the 2013 personhood bill that “sought to ban and criminalize abortions across the country” and “define human life as beginning at conception.”

Rogers has an extensive anti-abortion record. Rogers “supported a national abortion ban” and “consistently voted” for abortion bans. In Congress, Rogers “co-sponsored legislation to define human life as beginning at conception,” and twice “co-sponsored legislation to withdraw federal approval of the abortion-inducing medication Mifepristone.”

Rogers wanted to “enshrine fetal personhood in the Constitution,” and he celebrated the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. If Rogers had “lived in Michigan instead of Florida” in 2022, he would have voted against Proposal 3.

“As Mike Rogers campaigns with anti-abortion extremist Tom Cotton, his support for banning abortion and ripping away Michiganders’ freedom to make their own personal medical decisions is in the spotlight. Rogers’ toxic anti-abortion record makes it clear — Michigan families can’t trust him to represent us in the Senate,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Sam Chan.
