“I offer hearty congratulations to the newest members of the Washington State Legislature who are filling vacancies left by Democratic members achieving higher office and through retirement. State Senator Deborah Krishnadasan in the 26th, State Senator Tina Orwall and State Representative Edwin Obras in the 33rd were nominated by Democratic Precinct Committee Officers and appointed by the appropriate County Councilors and Commissioners for their respective regions.
“Washington Democrats were proud to ensure the fifth election in a row that grew our legislative majorities. We look forward to these newest members of the Democratic caucus in Olympia working on behalf of all Washingtonians to address housing insecurity, promote public safety, and look to progressive revenue options.”
