DES MOINES — Zach Nunn reaffirmed his support for a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions during a recent interview with We Are Iowa Local News 5.
During the interview, the host asks Nunn: “So, I know that was 2022. Why did you raise your hand then, and why has the stance changed a little bit now?”
The question refers to the time Zach Nunn raised his hand when he was asked if he supports a national abortion ban, no exceptions during a 2022 primary debate.
Nunn responded to the ABC 5 host by saying: “So the good news is that the stance has never changed. It’s how I’ve voted. It’s been consistent ever since I’ve been in the state legislature.”

Nunn voted for a bill in the state legislature that would jeopardize Iowa women’s access to abortion, birth control and IVF. In Congress, he refused to sign onto a bill that would protect the right to IVF or contraception.
Nunn also voted for a constitutional amendment in the state legislature that could eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa with no exceptions.
“Zach Nunn has said it himself twice – he supports a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions. His voting record shows he’s not lying,” said IDP Spokesperson Paige Godden. “Zach Nunn has voted to ban abortion at a state level and jeopardize Iowa women’s access to birth control and IVF. His views on abortion are dangerous and too extreme for Iowa.”
