Statement: Chair Barnes Reminds Michiganders to Get Out and Vote on the Morning of Election Day

November 5, 2024

LANSING — On Nov 5th, is the voters’ last chance to cast their ballots in the 2024 election to decide who will represent them up and down the ballot. On the morning of election day, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:

“This election is the most important moment in a generation to decide what kind of future we want for ourselves and our country. In a historic election season, Michiganders will play a critical role in that choice — and it is not too late to be heard.

“To defeat Donald Trump and his dangerous MAGA extremism, we need each Michigander to show up today and vote for Democrats at every level of the ballot. Michigan Dems cannot do it alone — we need all of you to help us make history today.”

As long as you are in line by 8 PM today, you are allowed to cast your ballot. If you have any problems with voting or at your polling place, voters can call the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683).
