Missouri Democrats Officially Certify Harris Walz To Appear On Ballot

August 9, 2024

On Aug 9th, Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Russ Carnahan officially certified Vice President Harris as the Democratic nominee for President to appear on the November ballot.

“Vice President Harris and Governor Walz have shot a lightning bolt of energy across our country, generating an outpouring of support, volunteers, and small-dollar donations. We are excited to officially have certified their nomination with the Secretary of State’s office ahead of the Democratic National Convention next week,” said Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Russ Carnahan.

“Missouri has one of the most extreme, near-total abortion bans in the country, which cruelly does not make exceptions in cases of rape or incest, and overturning this ban will be on the ballot in November. Republican politicians reaffirmed their commitment to their cruelty this legislative session by blocking a Democratic amendment to Missouri’s near-total abortion ban that would have carved out exceptions for victims of rape and incest. Every Republican voted against this amendment.”

“Missouri Democratic candidates up and down the ballot have been champions in the fight to protect our rights and freedoms that have been under attack. Heading into November, Missouri Democrats are well-positioned to present a strong case to Missouri voters about what is at stake this election and highlight our solutions to address the critical issues facing our communities. The excitement the Harris Walz ticket has generated will only propel us forward.”
