Missouri Democratic Party Congratulates Governor Walz On Being Selected As Harris’ Running Mate

August 6, 2024

The Missouri Democratic Party could not be more thrilled with Vice President Harris’ choice as her running mate and offers a big congratulations to Governor Tim Walz.

“The Vice President had a tough choice with many excellent candidates to consider as her running mate and the display of Democrats’ deep bench across the country only generated more excitement around Harris’ candidacy,” said Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Russ Carnahan. “I had the great privilege of serving with Governor Walz in Congress for six years, two on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and know personally how deep his commitment to our country runs.”

“Growing up in a rural small town, Governor Tim Walz’s midwest sensibility and proven pragmatic leadership make him an excellent addition to our Democratic ticket. Governor Walz’s joy and optimism are infectious and are exactly what the country needs at this critical moment. Democrats are heading into the November election season with an exciting ticket and a strong message and we are excited to share our vision for our communities with our neighbors.”
