John James, Bill Huizenga, Jack Bergman, and DC Republicans remain silent on Epstein files
LANSING - As the House of Representatives grinded to a halt today as DC Republicans are trying to avoid a tough vote calling on the Trump administration to release the Jeffrey Epstein files, John James, Bill Huizenga, and Jack Bergman remained conspicuously silent and avoided weighing in.
Mike Johnson cut the House’s schedule short and sent members home early today ahead of a five-week long recess - all to avoid having to take a vote on releasing the Epstein files. It comes as Johnson flip flops from originally calling on Trump to release the files, to now saying that “Trump needed space to determine how to proceed.”
James and Huizenga’s silence so far makes it clear that they’re both trying to avoid angering Trump even more after James is already in Trump’s crosshairs for running for governor and as Huizenga considers jumping in the GOP primary for Senate.
“John James, Bill Huizenga, and Jack Bergman have remained silent as DC Republicans are desperately trying to avoid a tough vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files,” said Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel. “Michiganders want the truth, not more smoke and mirrors. John James, Bill Huizenga, and Jack Bergman should be clear about whether they’ll stand up to Trump and call for the release of the Epstein files.”
