Michigan Dems Launch Campaign to Demand Republican House Reps. Protect Medicaid

May 9, 2025

LANSING - With Trump’s budget slashing Medicaid and Medicare funding, the Michigan Democratic Party launched a new campaign so local Michiganders can tell their Republican representatives to stop these attacks on our health care. With this new tool, Michiganders can ensure that Republicans like Tom Barrett, Bill Huizenga, and John James, who are refusing to hold town halls, will hear from their constituents about their reckless support for Medicaid cuts.

“At this critical moment, it is more important than ever that Michiganders’ voices are heard before Republicans allow Trump to gut one of the most fundamental pieces of our health care system,” said Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Curtis Hertel. “This campaign makes it even easier for voters to tell their stories and demand accountability from Republicans like Tom Barrett, who are failing to stand up for their constituents.”

In addition to a digital rollout, the Michigan Democratic Party will also be distributing graphics to local parties across the state to target key Republican members of Congress who are putting our health care at risk.
