Idaho Democratic Party Statement on Donald Trump Announcing J.D. Vance as His Running Mate

July 15, 2024

Idaho Democratic Party Executive Director Jared DeLoof released the following statement in response to Donald Trump naming J.D. Vance as his running mate:

“Donald Trump’s selection of J.D. Vance as his running mate underscores all that is at stake in November: our democracy, our freedoms, and our future. Vance has openly embraced Trump’s divisive Project 2025 agenda, advocating for policies that threaten reproductive freedoms, rip health care protections away from thousands of Idahoans, and hurt middle-class families. He has consistently supported a nationwide abortion ban, opposed exceptions for rape and incest survivors, and even advocated for women to remain in violent marriages. Idahoans need leaders who understand and prioritize the real issues facing our communities, not divisive rhetoric and inexperience.”
