ICYMI: Rep. Huizenga Praises Trump Agenda as It Kills Jobs, Raises Costs, and Guts Health Care for Michiganders

May 1, 2025

Once again, Michigan Republicans are in lockstep with Trump, even as it devastates our communities

LANSING - In case you missed it, Congressman Bill Huizenga has been lauding Trump’s disastrous decisions on tariffs, health care, and the economy, even as it costs Michiganders thousands of dollars in higher costs and fewer benefits. Time and time again, Huizenga has steadfastly stood by Trump’s lies and extremism, promising that Michiganders won’t feel Medicaid cuts or job loss - but it’s already happening.

Just over 100 days into Trump’s presidency, Michigan is seeing growing unemployment numbers, and countless families are being denied benefits and services as these programs are gutted. If Trump’s wrecking ball agenda keeps moving forward, working families are going to be hit hardest when they lose their jobs, their health care, and their financial safety.

In town halls, where Republicans are notably absent, Michiganders are begging their representatives, like Huizenga to stand up for them - but he won’t. He has made it very clear that between helping Trump or Michiganders, he picks Trump every single time; Michiganders deserve better.

Check out more of Huizenga’s high praise for Trump’s disastrous agenda in a recent interview:
