Governor Shapiro Signs 14 Bills Into Law, Including First Pieces of Budget Legislation

Harrisburg, PA - On June 27, 2025, Governor Josh Shapiro signed 14 bills into law, including 9 appropriations bills that are the first pieces of budget legislation to pass for FY 2025-26.

“Today I signed into law the first pieces of budget legislation for the next year — ensuring we continue to fund our workers’ compensation system, support our retirees, and process professional licenses and certificates quickly,” said Governor Shapiro. “This is the first step toward a final budget, and we will continue to have productive conversations and work with the House and Senate in order to get this done.”

Governor Shapiro signed HB 209(opens in a new tab), HB 240(opens in a new tab), HB 355(opens in a new tab), HB 491(opens in a new tab), HB 1333(opens in a new tab), HB 1334(opens in a new tab), HB 1335(opens in a new tab), HB 1336(opens in a new tab), HB 1337(opens in a new tab), HB 1338(opens in a new tab), HB 1339(opens in a new tab), HB 1340(opens in a new tab), HB 1420(opens in a new tab), and SB 202(opens in a new tab).

The appropriations bills signed today fund the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Licensing and the professional licensing boards it administers, the Workers Compensation system, the Office of Small Business Advocate, the Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS), the State Employees Retirement System (SERS), the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA), the Public Utility Commission (PUC), the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), and the Office of Consumer Advocate.
