Governor Polis Issues Executive Order to Memorialize Verbal Disaster Declaration that Provided Resources for Hurricane Milton

DENVER - On October 31, 2024, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order to memorialize his October 7 verbal declaration of disaster emergency due to Hurricane Milton, utilizing the Emergency Management Assistance Compact and enabling State and Federal agencies to coordinate hurricane response support, consequence management, mitigation, and recovery efforts in Florida. The Executive Order also memorializes the Governor’s verbal authorization to employ unarmed Colorado National Guard members, and additional resources.
