Winsome Earle-Sears on Trump Tariffs: “I think that’s good”

VIRGINIA – Winsome Earle-Sears’ support for Donald Trump’s tariffs remain in the spotlight after former Republican Governor and U.S. Senator George Allen spoke out against the massive tariffs that are causing higher prices and chaos for Virginia’s small businesses. This follows Sears’ calling the tariffs “good” and a “benefit” behind closed doors.

“While Winsome Earle-Sears cheers on Trump’s tariff chaos, Virginians and their families face the devastating consequences. Virginians deserve a governor who will fight for their jobs and help grow the economy, and that’s not Winsome Earle-Sears,” said DPVA Spokesperson Maggie Amjad.

  • They say Trump's tariffs have put their businesses in jeopardy by raising their costs [...]
  • "I've taken a stand and it's one I feel very strongly about," Allen said in a recent interview.
  • David Levi, owner of MicroKits in Charlottesville, faults how Trump has imposed tariffs, which he said hurt his ability to buy electronic parts to make educational kits and musical instruments or know what they ultimately will cost.
