Florida Democratic Party Statement On The Attacks On Democratic Lawmakers In Minnesota

Tallahassee, FL - In response to the attacks on Minnesota Democratic legislators by a gunman impersonating an officer, Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried has issued the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the targeted killing of Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, and the attack on Senator John Hoffman and his wife. 

Our hearts are with the victims and their families, as well as Minnesota law enforcement as they seek to bring the perpetrator of these hateful attacks to justice. 

We are heartbroken by these tragic losses, but we are undeterred by violent threats. In America, our political differences may divide us, but one thing that should unite us all is the agreement that political violence is never acceptable.”
