“Duggan’s campaign and a Duggan campaign adviser did not respond to requests for comment.”
LANSING - Mike Duggan is dodging questions on if he’d welcome the support of Elon Musk, with his campaign and an adviser not responding to requests for comment from NOTUS after he “played some online footsie with Musk in June when he left the White House and first floated the new party idea.”
NOTUS reached out to independent candidates across the country and asked if they actually would welcome Elon’s support. Duggan’s campaign didn’t respond despite the fact that just a few weeks ago he tweeted “Now you’ve got my attention….[smiling emoji]” when Musk first floated the new party. Duggan also said earlier this year that Musk would be the first person he goes and visits if elected governor.
In a recent interview, Andrew Yang, who is teaming up with Musk, specifically mentioned potentially supporting Duggan. And while Duggan dodges questions, Elon Musk has made life tougher for everyday Michiganders, as he worked hand-in-hand with Donald Trump to attack Social Security and gut federal agencies that keep us safe, like air traffic controllers and meteorologists.
“Mike Duggan played ‘online footsie’ with Elon Musk last month and is now dodging questions on if he’s asking for Musk’s support,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesman Derrick Honeyman. “After Elon Musk worked with Trump to make life worse for Michiganders, Duggan needs to answer on if he is seeking Musk’s support.”
