DPI Statement on Swearing In of 104th General Assembly

The Democratic supermajority is ready to work.

Springfield, IL - As members of Illinois’ 104th General Assembly take their oaths in our state’s capital today, Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez released the following statement:

“I’m proud as Party Chair to have helped defend every Democratic seat in the General Assembly last year, and through common-sense legislation in 2025, our Party plans to do right by all of the communities we serve. Illinois Democrats look ahead to protecting and expanding essential freedoms and helping ensure no Illinois community is left behind or harmed by the incoming White House administration. The Democratic supermajority is ready to work.”
