Wyden, Senate Democrats to Hold Senate Floor Ahead of Vote on RFK Jr. Nomination To Lead HHS

Democrats to Hold Senate Floor Into the Night to Lay Out Dangerous Views of Nominee to Lead Federal Health Care Policy

Washington, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., on Feb 12th, will lead Senate Democrats in an effort on the Senate floor to oppose the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Kennedy has spent decades espousing anti-vaccine views that will cause enormous harm to the health of American families if he is confirmed to lead HHS. At his hearing with the Finance Committee, Kennedy refused to renounce his dangerous views on vaccines, dodged questions about cutting Medicaid and lowering drug prices, and failed to demonstrate basic knowledge of the programs he would be responsible for running, including Medicare.
