Texas Democratic Party Statement on Texas Senate Debate

Dallas, Texas – Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement on tonight’s debate for U.S. Senate:

“Tonight, Texans saw a clear contrast between Congressman Colin Allred, who is ready to be a Senator for all 30 million Texans, and Ted Cruz, who repeatedly showed he only cares about himself.

“Ted Cruz has been in Washington forever with nothing to show for it, except his  abortion ban and infamous trip to Cancún. Congressman Allred will restore reproductive freedom for Texas women, secure the border, and bring Texans together around our shared values. Congressman Allred won this debate and proved to Texans he is the right person to serve us in the Senate.”
