Stitt Desperate for Attention

April 18, 2023

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A governor incapable of leading and abiding by honor and ethics, who can’t close the deal, has to take credit for the work of Democrats for any attention.

“Stitt is desperate to remain relevant as President Biden announces $11.5 million in Federal assistance to repair rural roads and bridges and another $1.8 million in the Urban Forestry Project to expand trees and green spaces in disadvantaged urban communities,” stated Alicia Andrews, Chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. “Seven bridges in Garfield, Grant, Kingfisher, Major, Noble, and Woods Counties are considered fair or poor and in desperate need of attention.

“While Stitt is busy posing for photos and pushing school voucher schemes that hurt rural Oklahomans, Democrats are working to help our rural counties. The roads and bridges funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help move goods through Oklahoma better while connecting people within their communities.

“When Republicans cut taxes and ignore the needs of rural Oklahomans, we end up with disrepair of our infrastructure. Emergency crews are hindered from reaching people, and local businesses lose revenue from the loss of traffic through their areas. Ignoring the needs of our rural citizens leads to long-term crises. The Oklahoma Democratic Party is pleased to know that President Biden and Democrats are looking for ways to improve the lives of everyone and not ignoring our rural communities. Thank you, President Biden,” Andrews concluded.
