Statement from Governor Dan McKee on Results of 2024 Presidential Election

From: Rhode Island Governor Daniel McKee
November 6, 2024

PROVIDENCE, RI — Governor Dan McKee released the following statement regarding the results of the 2024 Presidential election:

“Here in Rhode Island, our work at the state and local level has never been more important.

Our Administration is committed to continuing to bring Rhode Islanders together to improve the lives of every resident by growing our clean energy economy, strengthening public education, upgrading our infrastructure, tackling the housing crisis, safeguarding the rights we cherish, and so much more. Together, we will protect this progress.

On Nov 6th, while some Rhode Islanders, myself included, feel disappointed, others are pleased with the result. That's understandable, but as a state, our mission remains the same.

We must now calmly move forward with civility and respect to ensure Rhode Island remains a place of opportunity and inclusivity for all. We are one team, and our commitment to the work cannot and will not waver.”
