Statement: Chair Barnes Slams Trump’s Last Ditch Attempt to Sway Michiganders

November 1, 2024

LANSING — Later on Nov 1st, Trump is speaking in Dearborn and Warren to try one last time to persuade Michiganders into supporting his dangerous Project 2025 agenda. Ahead of his visits, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:

“The people of Warren know better than anybody that you can’t trust a single word that Donald Trump says. As president, he promised that no more auto plants would shut down but then sat idly by as the factory in Warren shuttered its doors, losing hundreds of jobs.

“He’s promising to bring the auto industry back and lower costs, but the truth is Trump’s Project 2025 will cost Michigan families nearly $4,000 more every year while shipping jobs out of Michigan. Wherever he goes today, Michiganders will see right through his lies and will once again reject Trump and his MAGA agenda this year.”
