Following President Biden’s announcement that he will not accept the nomination of the Democratic Party in 2024, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain released the following statement:

“President Biden holds a special place in the hearts of South Carolina Democrats. There are only two words to be said - Thank you. Thank you to the President for his extraordinary leadership and selfless sacrifice for our nation. President Biden’s leadership brought our country back from the brink after the pandemic and the worst economic crisis in 80 years. South Carolina Democrats will always be proud we played a small part in President Biden’s nomination in 2020. The President’s decision today exemplifies his dedication and love for our country.
