After voting against the Federal bipartisan infrastructure law in 2021, Representative Earl L. “Buddy” Carter is once again taking credit for its results.
“This isn’t the first time Buddy Carter has tried to take credit for federal projects after voting against them, and unfortunately, Coastal Georgians have become all too familiar with his particular brand of hypocrisy,” said DPG Executive Director Tolulope Kevin Olasanoye. “Coastal Georgia needs a representative who always has their best interests at heart, not just when it’s convenient to take credit for other people’s work, and that’s why we’re supporting Patti Hewitt.”
Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) awarded the Georgia Ports Authority $26.5 million for construction of a new rail yard at the Port of Brunswick’s Colonel’s Island Auto Terminal, The Brunswick News reported.
The Federal resources come through the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program, which was funded by the bipartisan infrastructure law, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation — which Carter opposed.
