Rep. Brendan Boyle And PA Dems Chair Sharif Street React To The Passge Of Trump’s ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’

HARRISBURG, PA - Moments ago, House Republicans passed Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act” against unanimous Democratic opposition. The vote concluded around 2:30 PM EDT, with two Republicans voting against the bill.

In response to the bill’s passage, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee — Pennsylvania’s Rep. Brendan Boyle - and Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Sharif Street issued the following statements:

House Budget Committee Ranking Member Brendan Boyle (PA-02):

“Today, Trump Republicans in Congress showed us exactly who they are fighting for: billionaires and not working families. Because of their actions, 17 million Americans will lose their health care coverage, and millions more will pay more for theirs. And why? Just to pay for tax cuts for the ultra rich. I am ready to make sure voters are reminded of this betrayal every single day until we can win a Democratic majority in Congress next year.”

PA Dems Chair Sharif Street:

“House Republicans just showed the American people exactly who they work for and it’s not working families. By passing this Big Ugly Bill, they’ve made their priorities painfully clear: tax breaks for billionaires, cuts to essential services, and a relentless assault on the progress we’ve made. This bill is a raw deal for Pennsylvania. It threatens our healthcare, our schools, and our economic security—all so the ultra-wealthy can get another handout. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party will continue fighting to hold them accountable and stand up for a fairer, more just economy that works for everyone.”
