Minnesota's Republican Delegation Fled from Washington, D.C., to Avoid Voting on Releasing the Epstein Files

July 24, 2025

ST. PAUL - In response to House Republicans fleeing the Capitol and beginning the August recess early to avoid the release of the Epstein files, Minnesota DFL Chairman Richard Carlbom released the following statement:

“Rather than grow a backbone and stand up for what’s right, Republicans are fleeing the Capitol to avoid releasing the Epstein files to protect Donald Trump. Minnesotans elected these representatives to deliver results, not to protect child predators and child traffickers.

“Reps. Emmer, Stauber, Michele Fischbach, and Brad Finstad opted to protect Donald Trump and other friends of notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and brought infinite shame upon them and their positions in Congress. It’s very clear that for Tom Emmer, Pete Stauber, Michelle Fischbach, and Brad Finstad, there is a level of fame and power that they’re willing to overlook when it comes to breaking any law, no matter how heinous.”
