MDP Congratulates Democratic Candidates On Successful Election Night

August 7, 2024

The Missouri Democratic Party is proud of the slate of Democratic candidates who were nominated to run for their respective offices in last night’s statewide primary election, and thank you to every candidate for their courage and willingness to seek the nomination.

Missouri Republicans have controlled majorities and supermajorities in the state legislature for more than two decades, and Missouri families are worse off for it. Missourians are exhausted by the GOP’s constant politicizing of any issue - from beer to Disneyland - to boost their campaigns, while Missouri families suffer under the failure of their elected representatives.

Missouri Democrats are energized heading into the November general election season and have a powerful message to draw a strong contrast between our vision for our communities and the Missouri Republicans' record of division and chaos: Get the politics out of our personal lives and get to work for Missouri.

The Missouri Democratic Party is excited to support our statewide slate of candidates as we make our case to Missouri voters:

  • Gubernatorial Candidate Crystal Quade, the first in her family to graduate high school and the sitting Missouri State House Minority Leader seeking to continue her fight for Missouri families to the Governor’s mansion.
  • Attorney General Candidate Elad Gross, a proven government transparency attorney and former Assistant Attorney General running to sue scammers, protect our families, and crush corruption.
  • Secretary of State Candidate Barbara Phifer, a pastor for more than 40 years and sitting state representative running to protect Missouri elections, keep Missouri businesses opening, and support Missouri’s public libraries.

Additionally, on Aug 7th, at 11:30 AM, the Missouri Democratic Party will host members of the media on zoom to discuss the 2024 statewide primary election results and preview our path forward into November. This event requires pre-registration by TODAY, Wednesday, August 7th at 10:30AM.
