In partnership with Team Harris-Walz, the Maine Democratic Party is offering a Voter Assistance Hotline. This free resource provides Maine voters with answers to common voting questions and will help Mainers exercise their right to vote in this election.

WHAT: Voter Protection Hotline

HOURS: 7 Days a Week | 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET

ELECTION DAY HOURS: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.

EMAIL: [email protected]

Less than three weeks until the November 5 election, the Maine Democratic Party and Team Harris-Walz are providing the Voter Assistance Hotline to make trusted, factually accurate voting information more accessible.

The Voter Assistance Hotline is open to all Maine voters and eligible voters and will provide accurate election information. Voters can call the Voter Assistance Hotline with any election-related question including how to register, where to vote in person, or where to find the nearest drop box location to return their absentee ballot. The Hotline can also be used to report election concerns related to voter intimidation, electioneering, long lines at polling centers, ADA accessibility, and other issues.

Maine elections are fair and accessible. As misinformation about elections persists, it is important for Maine voters and eligible voters to have accurate information as they make a plan to vote on or before November 5.

HOW TO REGISTER TO VOTE:

To check your registration status, visit IWillVote.com/ME. You may register to vote at your town or city clerk’s office or a Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch office during business hours. Maine has same-day voter registration, so you may also register to vote on Election Day November 5 at your polling place.

HOW TO CAST YOUR BALLOT:

In Maine there are three ways to cast your ballot:

  1. Bring your absentee ballot to a drop box in your town. To find your nearest drop box, visit IWillVote.com/ME.
  2. Return your ballot by mail with appropriate postage. Don’t forget to sign the back of the envelope. The recommended last day to mail in your ballot is Friday, October 25. After October 25, please bring your ballot to a drop box or to your city or town clerk’s office.
  3. Vote in person at your town or city office until Halloween or vote in person on Election Day, November 5. Find your polling location at IWillVote.com/ME.

HOW TO TRACK YOUR BALLOT:

Track your absentee ballot on the Secretary of State’s website HERE.

Questions: For questions about registering to vote and how to vote, or to report voter intimidation, electioneering, long lines at polling centers, and other issues, please contact the Voter Assistance Hotline by calling 207-977-4451 or emailing [email protected].
