Idaho Democratic Party Chair Slams Trump’s Attack on Grassroots Giving

April 24, 2025

In response to Donald Trump using the federal government to target ActBlue, Idaho Democratic Party Chair Lauren Necochea released the following statement:

“Donald Trump is so threatened by grassroots democracy, he’s now weaponizing the government to silence it. ActBlue is how millions of Americans, including thousands right here in Idaho, support the candidates and causes they believe in. Trump isn’t going after corruption. He’s going after the competition. He’s trying to crush grassroots democracy and clear the way for his billionaire donors to buy our elections. Idaho Democrats aren’t bankrolled by oligarchs. We’re fueled by teachers, nurses, and working families chipping in $10 at a time. That’s the people power Trump can’t control, so he’s trying to kill it. This is a desperate, dangerous move from a man terrified of losing. If Trump wants a fight with grassroots Idahoans, he just picked the wrong crowd.”
