South Dakotans Energized by Kamala Harris’ Decisive Debate Win

Sioux Falls, SD – On Sep 10th night, Kamala Harris won the debate against Donald Trump. She expertly laid out her plans for a new way forward that protects our freedoms and ensures every person has the opportunity not to just get by, but to get ahead. She also held Donald Trump accountable for his lies and contempt of the office of President.

In response to Vice President Harris’ debate performance, South Dakota Democratic Party Chair Shane Merrill issued the following statement:

“Last night’s debate clearly showed that Vice President Harris is more than ready to take on the role of President of the United States. The contrast couldn’t be clearer: Trump lied at every chance he could and spewed conspiracy theories, but he never outlined a coherent vision for the American people. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris demonstrated how a Harris-Walz administration will protect South Dakotan’s reproductive rights, lower the costs of health care and groceries, make housing more affordable and ensure that wealthy corporations and billionaires pay their fair share in taxes. Vice President Harris decisively won the debate and the South Dakota Democratic Party is ready to help her carry this momentum through November.”
