LISTEN >> Governor Walz Exclusive Interview with Top Univision Radio Show El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo

This week, Governor Walz joined Univision’s “El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo,” radio host Raúl Molinar for an exclusive interview where he talked about Vice President Harris’ Opportunity Agenda for Latino Men that will lower costs and ensure that Latino men and their families have a fair shot at achieving the American Dream, and the stakes of this election for Latino voters across the country.

The interview comes as Vice President Harris also sat down for an exclusive interview on Telemundo, further amplifying outreach efforts within the Latino community and meeting voters where they are.

Meanwhile Trump’s Project 2025 agenda would give tax cuts to the wealthy and make life more expensive for Latino families – and he could barely stay awake during his town hall with Latinos this week where he fantasized about having “extreme power” in a second term, and said “we may never have an election again” if he loses.

On Vice President Harris’ Opportunity Agenda for Latino Men

Governor Tim Walz: “Look, this is focusing on the middle class, and this is a great contrast to where Donald Trump is at: tax cuts for billionaires. We’re focusing on a Child Tax Credit for those families, making sure that we’re taking on this price gouging. And then I think one of the biggest things is equipping folks with the ability to continue to move up. The Vice President is going to unroll an agenda that […] trains about 2 million, specifically Hispanic men, on issues where we know they’re out there working. We know they need to make more money. We know we need to keep prices where they’re at. But the opportunity then to think about small businesses to be able to have $20,000 forgivable loans, $50,000 tax credit [for startups], because we know that folks want to live that American Dream. They want to get started. And then I would just say on housing, an ambitious goal, to double Hispanic first time homebuyers. These are things that people care about. You know, Raúl, if you own a home, that’s generational wealth, that’s security for your family. […] And I can tell you this, that tariffs on things that Donald Trump is proposing is going to add… a burden to families, rather than lifting them up.”

On the importance of the Latino vote

Governor Tim Walz: “We do not take it for granted. We’re trying to earn each of these votes. I think, first and foremost, the Vice President and I are middle class folks. We have a proven track record of investing in the middle class, investing in homes, investing in education. […] I talked about this as a veteran myself of 24 years, we have Hispanic Americans serving at a huge rate. We need to make sure that we’re investing in them, that we’re transitioning them out of the military into good-paying jobs and value them. And I think the contrast with Donald Trump talking about ‘poisoning the blood of this country,’ that is unacceptable. We are strengthened by our immigration policies, we are strengthened by the community, and we’re investing in the middle class. So I would humbly ask folks to try and earn your vote, to vote for folks who are there with you, folks with a proven track record, not someone who goes out of their way to demean people, and certainly not someone who’s focused on the billionaires alone and not the rest of us.”

On immigration:

Governor Tim Walz: “Well, let’s first and foremost acknowledge that immigration and Hispanic immigration makes our country better every day. […] We also need to have a policy that works. We need to have a fair border policy that controls the border, but also allows… expediating legal immigration. And I think the Vice President has been very clear, we have a border bill that can do that, provide the resources necessary, make sure that we have the folks that need to be done. But also, we can do it with humanity. We’re certainly not going to do it with some of the language we’ve seen, demonizing people who are in this country legally and putting our immigrant community at risk.”

On Vice President Harris charting a New Way Forward:

Governor Tim Walz: “All of us have one vote. And if you’re tired of the division in this country, if you’re tired of the anger, the name-calling, Kamala Harris has made it clear she wants to be president for all Americans. She wants everybody to be seen in this so I would ask all of your listeners, get out there and vote.”
