ANNAPOLIS, MD - Governor Wes Moore today proclaimed December 14, 2024, as Army vs. Navy Game Day in Maryland. The proclamation commemorates the 125th edition of “America’s Game,” which will take place at Northwest Stadium in Landover.

"Today is not just about one of the greatest rivalries in college sports – it’s about what brings us together. I am proud to be part of the long tradition of service that defines our state and our country; one that transcends background, ideology, race, and family history," said Gov. Moore. "So whether you root black and gold or blue and gold, I want to thank our service members for their sacrifice and commitment. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from – you raised your hand to put service before self, and that’s not just notable, that’s honorable."?

Earlier this week, Governor Moore hosted the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Superintendent Lt. General Steven W. Gilland, U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Yvette Davids , Moore-Miller Administration cabinet secretaries, the Army Field Band and local service men and women to the Maryland State House to honor the Army vs. Navy Game Day Tradition and present the proclamation.

"This game is an opportunity to showcase America’s team," said U.S. Military Academy at West Point 61st Superintendent Lt. General Steven W. Gilland. "The leaders of character who are prepared to support and defend our Constitution of the United States. Prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder in harm’s way. Leading our nation’s sons and daughters, our nation’s treasure, in the defense of our nation and its values and our ideals."

"The Army-Navy game is special as it is a reminder of our mutual service and dedication," said U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Yvette Davids. "As we join together for our Nation's 125th Army-Navy game in fierce rivalry and competition, knowing and respecting that no matter whether we choose to serve by land or by sea, we are forever bonded by our mutual commitment to our nation."

Later this afternoon, Governor Moore will attend "America’s Game" at Northwest Stadium. M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore will host the 126th Army-Navy Game in 2025.
