Florida Democratic Party Celebrates Labor Day

September 2, 2024

In celebration of Labor Day, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:

“Unions are the backbone of our country, and I’m proud to celebrate their accomplishments this Labor Day,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “I’m thankful for the generations of union members, organizers, and leaders that have sacrificed so much to improve working conditions, fight for fair pay, and advance workers’ rights.

“While Florida Republicans like Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis take every opportunity to advance their anti-worker agenda — from banning local heat-protection laws to busting public sector unions — Florida Democrats are fighting every day for working families. That’s why it’s so important to elect more pro-worker, pro-union leaders to represent us in Tallahassee — and to send Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to the White House this November.”
