Following leadership elections for the Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus, DPG Chair Congresswoman Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“On behalf of the Democratic Party of Georgia, I want to congratulate Senator Harold Jones on his election as Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus Leader. Having served with him in the State Senate, I know Leader Jones will continue fighting to improve Georgia by expanding Medicaid, protecting reproductive freedom, building safer communities, and making our economy one that works for everyone. I’d also like to congratulate Senators Kim Jackson, Elena Parent, Sonya Halpern, Jason Esteves, and Nan Orrock on their election to caucus leadership and know they will steer the Senate Democratic Caucus to continued success. We thank Senator Gloria Butler for her years of leadership that led to this moment, and we are ready to build on our progress this cycle and beyond.”
