DPG Calls on Secretary of State to Remove Voter Registration Cancellation Portal

July 29, 2024

On July 29th, Democratic Party of Georgia Executive Director Tolulope Kevin Olasanoye released the following statement calling on the Georgia Secretary of State to remove the “Voter Registration Cancellation Portal” on its website. The portal, which prompts users to “please enter the information of the voter you are wanting to cancel,” requires only basic identifying information to submit a cancellation of any Georgia voter.

“This portal is ripe for abuse by right-wing activists who are already submitting mass voter challenges meant to disenfranchise Georgians,” said DPG Executive Director Tolulope Kevin Olasanoye. “Coming right on the heels of S.B. 189, this page is yet another move in Georgia Republicans’ playbook to empower anti-democracy activists, and the Secretary of State must take it down immediately.”
