DelDems Veterans Caucus Statement on Trump Campaigning at Arlington National Cemetery Visit

August 30, 2024

Delaware Democratic Veterans Caucus has issued the following statement in reaction to Donald Trump's recent campaign visit to Arington National Cemetary

“The Veterans Caucus of the Delaware Democratic Party condemns in the strongest terms the actions of Donald Trump at Arlington National Cemetery. He defiled the hallowed ground that contains the remains of our fallen brothers and sisters in arms in order to score cheap political points, and violated federal law in doing so. That cemetery staff was physically and verbally accosted in the process only adds to the completely unacceptable nature of his atrocious actions.

"Those who have served the United States in uniform deserve the utmost respect, and his actions show his flagrant disregard for the sacrifice of those who gave their lives in service to the country. He has once again demonstrated his unworthiness to hold the title of Commander in Chief.”
