6 Months In, Trump and Republicans Are Screwing Over Working Idahoans

July 20, 2025

As Idahoans endure 6 months of Donald Trump’s billionaires-first agenda, Idaho Democratic Party Spokesperson Avery Roberts released the following statement:

“Trump said he’d lower prices. Instead, he pushed through a budget that will cost Idaho families $1,900, all to give billionaires a break. And every single Idaho Republican in Congress went along with it. Not one of them stood up for us. Now, nearly 73,000 Idahoans will lose their health care coverage, and 8,000 Idahoans risk losing access to food assistance. After six months on the job, Trump’s biggest win is making life easier for the ultra-rich and harder for the rest of us.”

At the 6-month mark, Donald Trump has broken his promise to everyone but his billionaire backers. In response, Democrats just launched TrumpTax.com to show what Trump is costing working Idahoans since stepping into office. Thanks to Trump:

  • Nearly 73,000 Idahoans will lose health insurance
  • 8,000 Idahoans are at risk of losing food assistance
  • 3,900 Idahoans could lose their job
  • The median household in Idaho will lose more than $300 from the Trump Tax alone. Combined with Trump’s reckless tariffs agenda, the media household will lose more than $1,600 annually
  • 3 rural hospitals in Idaho are at risk of closing
  • Idahoans’ electricity bills will rise by 3.3%
  • Trump’s reckless tariffs have already cost Idaho businesses $50.3 million
